A little over four years ago, I logged into my WordPress account and opened up to a blank page. Wide eyes and not a clue where to begin, I started to write my first post. The second I hit “publish”, I knew my life would never be the same.

Over these past four years, I have learned an unfathomable amount about blogging, photography, and the level of commitment it takes to pursue something I am so passionate about. Foreign concepts like HTML coding and SEO optimization slowly became familiar and with each day, I learned something new.

It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions. The initial excitement slowly wore off and the realization of how much time and effort would be required to maintain a successful blog quickly set in. I fell into the comparison trap and let myself get intimidated by people with much more experience than I had. Thoughts like “There’s no way she’ll notice me! She has 15k+ followers and I don’t even have 1,000.” surfaced more and more and I began to doubt myself.

Starting out with zero page views, likes, followers, and subscribers, I felt like a drop of water drowning in a sea of competition. Did I have a chance? Could I somehow manage to make a name for myself and get others to notice my tiny corner of the internet?

Slowly, numbers started rising and I soon found myself surrounded by a community of other bloggers showering me with love, encouragement, and support.

So, two hair cuts, gallons of coffee, a new camera, and a brand re-launch later, I ended up here.
